Newer windshields are often thinner and extremely fragile, but also cheaper.

BMW chose to put in a fragile one in the car instead of a decent one. Our other cars dont break, this one breaks straight away. Simple as that.
You should go all Mad Max and weld a heavy steel mesh over the top of your windshield, maybe some chariot spikes sticking out from your wheels. Its not a problem, its an opportunity
