BMW X5 40e PHEV Level 2 Home Charging Issues

UPDATE 03/18/2017: our car was updated with the latest EME/KLE software and the issue has been resolved.

Thought it was only me, but many reports online for owners are surfacing that the 40e's are having issues charging using home based level 2 EVSE chargers.

The issue appears to be the sensitivity with the 40e when initializing the handshake with the EVSE charger. The 40e would not charge and produce a blinking red ring with the message 'Unable to Charge'.

The behaviours reported seem to be common as:
- 40e works consistently at any commercial lvl2 240v EVSE
- 40e works consistently with provided Clipper 120v EVSE
- 40e does NOT work reliably at home on various 240v lvl2 EVSE
- some owners went as far as replacing the 40e onboard charger with the same effect

Wokaround -> start charging with the provided level1 charger and once th charging has been established, swap out the lvl1 charger with the lvl2 240v charger. This is obviously not acceptable and is a design fault.

EVSE chargers reported with this issue include: ChargePoint Home 32A, Bosche PowerMax, JuiceBox Pro 40

Any other 40e owners here expericing this issue?
