I was never a fan of extended warranties. You're paying a high price in advance for something that MAY happen.
BMWs are known for high cost of parts and maintenance, but I think every buyer should be cognizant of that ahead of purchase.
Leased a 328xi in the mid to late 2000s. At that point, I could only afford the lease payment, and knew I would not buy, and knew I would not have to pay anything beyond that due to warranty.
Now, I am well aware of what the costs would be should something unfortunate happens, but would never pay in advance for it.
