I have managed to code the NBT2 unit to display the option to turn it on in both the instrument display and HUD but sadly it did not work. I don't even get the blank sign as seen in the OP's link to the pic of the instrument panel
Is there anybody out there with a 2016/17 X5 with SLI working that does E sys coding that can send me a copy ncd files of their Kombi and Kafas2 modules so I can compare them using Tokenmaster's Software Tools. Ideally it would be good if I could get an EU ROW model as my experience with VAG autos is the US/Canadian models differ somewhat compared to the ROW. However something is better than nothing

I have also had a look at my 2016 Garmin maps of Australia and they all have the speed data then so I don't believe it's a map data issue
