Been following this thread, and am very interested in replacing my 2010 X5d with a PHEV.. The success of this "e" will depend on the pricing.. If BMW/NA repeats the "diesel" intro and prices it $5000 above the "i" then few will take it.. as was the case with the intro of Diesels..

BMW/NA Had to offer the $5000 "Eco credit" for the 2009/2010 diesel X5 to get them moving.. now the Diesel is 30% of the X5 volume (USA), with at $1500 premium above the 3.5i .. Also there was a $1800 FED Tax credit at the time for diesel, Which made the 2010 diesel cheaper than a comparable 3.5i. I was happily sold then.. and 106,000 miles later.. still happy, but time to upgrade..

We will see how much they want to sell this "e"...
