Thats when i use DTC in the past is to try to rock the car out of semi stuck situation. I would imagine once you are going at a decent speed you would want normal DSC mode instead of DTC.
I use DTC in the summer when i want max acceleration since it allows more wheel spin during take off (in my 550i)
