It's definitely a gamble. But don't you get your money back in a pro-rated fashion if you end up getting rid of your X5 before you've used up all your extended warranty?

I know it only takes one large issues, for example with the sunroof, for you to be out thousands of dollars. Add one more issue on top of that, for example the A/C, and it's time to dump it.

I have two options: get the extended warranty and keep the car until the warranty runs out, or sell the car now and trade it in for another SUV. I have roughly 3,500 miles to think about that.
