wjbender sorry have to disagree with your statement about diesels almost always beating advertised MPG. I have never ever managed to get close to the claimed MPG. I don't drive with my foot glued to the floor nor do a Boy Racer from the lights. In all the BMW diesels I have owned over the lifetime of the car it's always been a good 5 MPG down on the claimed Combined Cycle.
