Then this Dinan product it is a no brainer!! and an excellent job of engineering.
On the other hand, paying over $2,000 for a muffler and only getting 8hp without it even it looking better, does not fit my $/hp ratio.
That estimate on pricing is just a tad out of whack as that intake will be no more then $1500 at absolute maximum (thats being very generous on the maximum as well). As far as the sound increase goes... we don't engineer for sound on an intake... we engineer for performance. Sound increase is a byproduct of an open air intake that also typically yields issues with extended performance (heat soak after multiple hard pulls as an example). That doesn't cut it in our book. If sound is your desire thats fine but thats not ours. We want to make the car perform better, not just sound like it does. Any increase in sound is simply a byproduct of the design for us.

Exhausts are for sound. That's what you are paying for. Any token gains you get out of it are just icing on the cake. Lets not kid ourselves.
