I have contemplated the same many times. I love matte black/dark grey cars a lot. But you also cannot beat a shiny black car when it is freshly waxed!
The problem I ran into when looking for a wrap was finding a place that did a consistently good job wrapping them. Even the upscale car dealership that was showcasing their work had seams I could see from 10 feet away. Just didn't do it for me in the end.
