P1et SlammedR8 , I would say depends on the car.
In our case, the F15/F16 X5/X6, has a very big and flat front end. Putting the plate off center just makes it look weird.
But in sport car case where the front end is longer on the center, it looks better on off center mount. That's my opinion.
