regarding the extended warranty...when I bought my CPO elite luxury line, the dealer offered a 7yr/100K warranty for $3200. It was not a "BMW" warranty, but a dealer sold third party one. Didn't realize that at the time of purchase. I haven't had to use it since I'm still under the CPO warranty though. But it turns out that USAA also has an extended warranty plan for the x5...which come out to around $2800 for 7yr/100k. It is through USAA, which I have used for 25+ yrs, and I generally trust their products. You can roll this price into a loan, or pay it monthly. Just another option which seems to be a bit cheaper than the BMW plan, which may be third party anyway.
