My wife brought the X back home with the glovebox hanging. She just handed me a clip and the glovebox door.

The clip is part #07149196874 and I only have one. I'm wondering how does this clip attach to the dampener.

Or does this clip not attach to the dampener at all? It's semi circle clip with a squeeze in arrow on the other side.

RealOem doesn't really provide a great picture of it. Can't seem to find anything on it searching around.

I can easily push the glovebox back into place and it functions, but the dampener isn't clipped in which makes me believe this is probably for the dampener.
