GREAT question. I just received my boxed set of gloss replacement front and side grilles/gills for my X5M, and I am TOTALLY hesitant to just try and pull the grille out like that. I did some online searches and there's this ridiculous youtube clip of some dudes taking bolt cutters to their stock grilles in order to just cut out the vanes which could make removal easy. Of course, they nuked the original grilles, but I don't think I'd ever be putting the originals back on anyways.
Either way, I ain't yanking those things out that way. Looks like a massive recipe for total disaster...
