There is a little retaining piece that you need to slide into the hole before snapping it on, so even if the cap pops off it's suppose to stay on.
But the retaining piece can be pulled out of the hole with force, so what I recommend after putting the retaining piece through the hole, put something that stops it from coming back out. I recommend something like a nylon cable tie.
