I wanted to figure this out myself so I bought a little puck GPS antenna with the correct connector, plugged it in to the module in place of the roof nantenna and GPS started working perfectly.
Since it's a new antenna, I'm going to assume it's simply the cable as the cable short error code indicated. The shop can deal with it
