Is not "Adaptive M Suspension" form part of the control in iDrive to alter the amount of drive split going to the front & rear wheels etc and the availability to see which wheels are driving?

I would like to see the US pdf where it say's you get it with a certain option?
Here is the pdf of the US Order sheet. As you can see, the Adaptive M suspension (2VF) is available here as an option as part of the MLine (Order Code ZMM) that is available for the s35i, x35i, x35d and x50i. All have the same option under ZMM that allows them to select:

"ZSU Standard Suspension
or 2VF - Adaptive M Suspension
Includes M foot rest and M door sills."

Then if you order DHP it requires you to order 2VF as an option with ZMM - IF you have ordered the MLine:

"ZDH Dynamic Handling Package
2VM Dynamic Damper Control + rear axle
air suspension
2VP Dynamic Performance Control + Active
Roll Stabilization
7SZ Dynamic Handling Package
ZDH requires ordering 2VF in
combination with ZMM and will delete
2VM.
"

Again, this is available for all X5 models. Hope this answers your question.

Happy Thanksgiving.
