I think I found out a solution... pencil eraser supposedly removes the wax over spray where as pruducts like autoglym bumper dressing only covers it up with oils and then it dries out and the white stains are back.

The eraser works to a certain degree. I have also heard that peanut butter works, but personally I have never tried it.
