The thing is if you don't use Passport then there isn't another option. Like you said V1 falses and I think Beltronics is owned by Escort now and should have similar plastic casing. All other detectors are not in the same category.

Yeah that is why I decided to return the Max. Honestly, when I first opened the box I was a little disappointed with the feel and construction. But I shrugged it off. Now that the housing basically fell apart I didn't want this detector any longer.
I've done some research and found that in 2013, when the Max first was released there were many owners complaining about the same problems
