So, the big differences are:

1. Better padding
2. Electrically adjustable side bolsters (also on sport)
3. Electrically adjustable thigh support (front cushion that slides back and forth)
4. Electrically adjustable head restraints (up/down)
5. "Wings" on the head restraint you can wrap around your head (think your favorite airline seat)
6. Electrically adjustable lumbar support (varies by market). This one doesn't do it for me, but others swear by it.

...and, the absolute winner for me:

7. Higher seat back / extended shoulder support that's also electrically adjustable. This is an extra "hinged" section in the seat that you can bend around your shoulders to perfectly support you in almost any driving position.

I had a brief "liaison" with Range Rover after my 2013 X5M was repurchased. The seats absolutely suck in comparison with BMW's. Multicontour seats were at the top of my option list when I ordered my new X5 - I wouldn't buy a BMW without them.
