I've had the cheapest tier of Fios for... 15 years? And never noticed the difference as the cheapest tier got faster (100/100 to 200/200 to 300/300).
I'd gladly pay less and get slower service. A 4k Netflix stream uses ~15mbps, so even at 100/100 I could still have 6 streams playing at the same time-- plenty for my family of 3. Sadly I'm stuck at 300/300, so 20 simultaneous 4K Netflix streams for 3 people

Other than that, the only large bandwidth needs I have are software updates, but they happen in the background/overnight, so... who cares how long they take.
I just don't know what upside there is from more speed. Never ever have I been tempted to pay for one of the faster tiers.
