I truly hope the English language lesson is being given by someone like
bimmette who will teach him proper grammar and sentence structure rather than, say, a person for whom English is perhaps a fourth language and who possesses a penchant for weird heavy metal rock bands, the members of whom are perhaps old enough to be her grandfather...
BTW, next time instead of flaps, use the word elevator instead. Just for kicks. I want to see his face as he pictures a standard elevator box in a plane. Unless he already knows that it is completely different - which is possible.
