You don’t have to have bimmerlink, you can also let the vehicle go to sleep for a bit and codes will be gone when you start it back up. I didn’t need to clear any codes when I did this.
Also, be careful which adapter you buy if you want to use bimmerlink. That app doesn’t work with all the same adapters that bimmercode works with (which is why I didn’t use bimmercode to clear any errors)
