i have yet to top off between oil changes but i do carry a spare liter in an oil bag.

this guy sounds like he is just making things up... since the e53 there have been several different versions/revisions of v8 engines. M62TUB44, M62B46, N62B44, N62B48, N63B44O0, N63B44O1(N63TU), S63B44O0, S63B44T2.
