I guess it depends on your tolerance. It is like beta testing technology. If you are ok with potential bugs and downtime, do it. If you want a fully tested system that is less error prone, wait until the bugs are fixed and wait a little while.

The 2019 X5 might be rock solid with no problems... but it might not!
