I love it. Congrats to you and your son! I think there's a lot of lessons to be learned from your first car. My dad worked hard to buy me an '04 RX-8 as my first car and I'll never forget how much I valued that car and everything he put into it. I don't think these sorts of decisions should be viewed negatively, but rather the lesson that's passed on is what's important. For me, it was to always value what you have. I took such great care of that thing and loved it.
Of course you can learn these lessons without buying a car. But I think there can be a lot of good as long as your son takes good care of it!
