Top Gear video had summer tires on the X6 - the Range Rover would have done the exact same thing if it had/came with summer tires. But since people don't buy a Range Rover for sporting intentions, it does not come with summer tires.
BMW does in fact make a LOT of money off of the X6. They sell about 6,000 a year here in the states but an additional 35,000+ overseas (they are EVERYWHERE in China). Moneygrabbing? Um, yes, they are in the business to make money...
The headroom in the X6 is not so good. The lack of grab handles makes things worse. I'm pretty sure several people have suffered bad head injuries getting in my car.
The X6 is a truck - an extremely capable truck (that can even be optioned with summer tires
), but still a truck. It does however have style - which you either like or dislike. Audi/MB/and even Maserati are coming out with competitors. Yes, this is a new segment and it is growing.
Me? I've enjoyed my X6 and so has my wife (my first BMW since my 1995 325 that she actually likes). But I'm back to a car after this.
