Just completed a 2000 mile road trip from Nottingham in the UK down to Monaco to watch the F1.
It must be downhill there and uphill on the way back
as on the way there I got over 39mpg (imp) with an average speed of over 70mph. All in comfort mode mainly with cruise set to about 85mph indicated (82/83mph GPS).
On the way back the overall average speed dropped to about 67mph and the mpg dropped to 33mpg though there was less cruise and more slowing down/speeding up due to traffic and I have a heavy right foot not to mention the mad French drivers who pull out without looking in their mirrors first making me slow down in the first place

I love my 40D, doing over 500 miles without stopping and so comfortable with the comfort seats up front.
I even managed to get the predicted range to go over 700 miles for the first time ever on that trip.
