My theory on the X5 AC is that it does a fine job cooling, but it doesn't do as good a job at dehumidifying. I'm in TN, and in August when it's 100* out with 70-80% humidity, it takes a long time to cool the cabin, and it's never really ideal (ie, it still feels humid in the car). I've gotten accustomed to using my seat ventilation (which also sucks... don't get me started) to supplement the AC just to keep my arse from sweating.
