AFAIK it is a brand new autobox built for the F85 and F86. The spyshots were actually correct since they did use same shifter as the DCT vehicles, but, everyone's conclusion was wrong because it is an autobox. That being said, it's a very good autobox and world of improvement over the 7 speed box from the last X5M.
