I added the extended warranty when I bought our X, you have the most leverage during that negotiation. We're in a large competitive market but even 3 years later it would have been quite a bit more to add it at this time, that's one of the ways they get you.
Passed on the extended maintenance program, that is a no-brainer for us. Helps to have an "Indy" shop in the family.
