Painted with a high gloss silver, but honestly they should stay as they are with out paint. I've installed Carbon/Ceramic pads on my E63 two years ago, and my rotors still look decent.
Granted my Pagid rear rotors were painted with a anti-corrosive paint from factory. And in my opinion, this would be the preferred method. As there is virtually little to no dust in these pads.
And, I'm also using a similar Power Stop carbon/ceramic pad on my X5M, so the rotors should look good for years to come. If not, they can always be cleaned and painted later.
