I managed to spray leather conditioner down in there one time while conditioning the dash...talk about a murky HUD!
The only thing I had handy in the car to clean it was some sunglass cleaner and the silk cloth they have in those little sunglass kits. I figured if that cleaner and wipe is good enough for plastic sunglasses, it should be good enough for the lens on the HUD. Works whenever I need to clean it up.
You can buy the kits at any Sunglass hut (free refills) for about $7-10.
