Just got a 35i for my wife, and have had it for about 2 weeks. Avg mpg is only 16. Test drove a v8 yesterday. The power was great but felt the engine noise for daily use was intrusive. The car also seemed to lurch more with extra power. Truthfully, I was kind of bummed I did not like it more as I am considering getting an x5 50i for myself. I may instead get a fully optioned msport 35 - I actually really like the smoothness of the 6, feel that it is fast enough, and care more about handling rather then massive engine that is overly thirsty.
