Wow, bumping some old topic. I don't think there is a problem, with 50 getting 15 miles per gallon in traffic is nothing unusual. Main reason I went the diesel route, in the worst traffic I still get 25 mpg, and on average my tank lasts for about 600 miles. |

You both are also clearly sitting idle or in traffic a lot. 13 hours of driving for only 200 miles is super slow. Avg 17mph. Not good.
Look at your average speed. 9kph. That's not fuel efficient by any means. Turbos don't do well that slow. Doesn't sound too crazy to me. 35i doesn't get good mileage to begin with. Whole thread on gas mileage that's not 3 years old talks about this. Especially comparing the 35 to the 50 and how the savings is almost negligible.
