19s may work better for deep snow, but not substantially
the square set up probably helps you a bit too. I just can't imagine those fat 315's (in the rear) that come on the car when you get the 20's as an upgrade doing very much in the snow, winter tires or not. Even the 275's seem too wide to me but again, depends on your threshold, I'm not saying they won't get you through. 18's or 19's wouldn't just be more sidewall, they'd be skinnier 245's.

Either way, he lives in VT, not sure I would trust 20's up there in the winter.
