Exactly. I've said for several years now that a "regular" hybrid just doesn't make economic sense. Not good enough mileage improvement to justify the cost of the extra hardware. And fully electric aren't fully there yet for most people. But make it a "plug-in" hybrid and suddenly there is great potential. Depending on your situation and the design of the car (big enough battery and electric motor) you get the best of both worlds and none of the major downsides of either.
