Acceleration is smooth and good under electric. The motor when needed will come on under heavy acceleration but I could barley feel it or notice it coming on, more than anything I could just hear it.
I got around 17 miles per full Charge. But even once the battery is lower it still shuts off sometimes and uses the battery during city driving, like at traffic lights and low speed.
Overall I was really happy with performance and drivability. I am debating between a diesel and the 40e. The determining factor will be whether it
is eligible for a federal PHEV tax credit.
If no tax credit the diesel presents much better overall costs because it's about 4K cheaper.
