+1 ... can't imagine that your insurance deductible is less than that.
I would inquire about what exactly their repair entails, what warranty is offered against any future electrical issues that may be the result of their repair, and hopefully they have a new OEM wiring harness to install, and aren't going to do a solder job for $500
