I'm not an expert on drag cf (I should have paid more attention in those aerodynamics courses 20 years ago..
), but it would seem to me that a flat, closed surface creates more wind resistance than an open one where the air can flow through.
You could be right, I don't know.
Maybe they cover it up because the emplty space behind it is ugly
Anyway, I ordered the parts (both open vents and the M50d chrome line) and will have them installed as soon as my car gets delivered. If it's ugly, I can still put he original parts back on. I will post pictures of before and after as soon as I have them...but don't hold your breath, my car only get's delivered end of Jan.
