They definitely look nice, but given how narrow they are, I wonder how effective they are. I've got a 4 year old, and as bad as it is, she either jumps down or steps on the body molding / door sill. I might go as far as putting some clear vinyl on it to protect the finish. She's only 32 lbs as of now, so not a big deal.
