Absolutely love that BMW made a rear wheel drive version of the X5 available. We have no need for all wheel drive and we hated having to pay for all that technology and hardware for nothing. It's priced beautifully as an sDrive base vehicle which allowed us to add all kinds of features we really wanted. The thing will still have traction control for limited slip like rear drive, so it will be perfectly fine and perfectly "stable" in 99% of situations on U.S. roads. I grew up in PA and drove a rear wheel drive all through high school and college. You don't need to be from the SoCal or FLA to get by with 2wd. You need to know how to drive.
