As stated above is the correct procedure. Just came back from the dealer and they printed the procedure, however in Dutch and on paper so not of much use to you. But the procedure is the same as on the E70.

The whole 'thing' actually sits on a screw which need to be released slightly to get it more outwards and thus stopping the tailgate from moving. Acces to the other side of the screw by taking away both side panels.
