We had a 2010 MDX Advance prior to our X5. The MDX had great handlling and the transmission was very responsive in Sport mode when driven aggressively. It was primarily my wife's vehicle but she started to daily drive our old lifted '98 4Runner. We actually sold the MDX outright because it was just basically sitting in the garage. About a year later when we started shopping for a new SUV and test drove the X5, we realized that the problem with the MDX is that it just wasn't responsive enough when driven in a sedate manner. Putting it simply, the X5 just feels better, which is very hard to quantify. My wife is not a car person at all, but she loves driving the X5 and it is now her favorite vehicle we have ever owned.

The X5 has really changed things in our family. I am a die hard Subaru guy...my next car will be a new M3.
