Hard plastic is fine for being under vacuum. Majority of vacuum cleaners have plastic tubing. The only problem is the location of the tubing is next to the super hot turbos and that constant hot cold cycling is the problem for hard plastic.

Anyways you can try to get them covered, but I think they would be get out of paying for it quite easily.
