Lots of people either didn't know about 50i or decided that 35i should be enough for them or maybe just wanted to save money or other reasons. I for one myself was looking at 35i and only found out about 50i on the dealers lot last minute. Test drove it after 35i and immediately felt in love, but I know some owners who only realized there was something else besides 35i and 35d.
