My thinks yes as I'm pretty certain the rear climate is the culprit. My 2014 did not have rear climate and the A/C was set and forget. My 2017, does have RC and the push of cold air to the front is definitely reduced. I find that I'm constantly adjusting and never comfortable enough to forget about it.
The solution of course is to manually turn off the RC from iDrive settings which does make things better. The rub is that the car will sometimes revert back to RC "on" for some reason.
