Season specific tires are all that it takes...I've swapped wheels/tires for the winter on most of the cars I've ever owned. An all-season is a compromise all seasons, and if you're trying to use a summer tire in the winter, you're an idiot.
I agree with you 100% but the reality is i have yet to see ONE x5/x6M with swapped out winter tires and i live in the northeast. Anyway my point is that these suv's are not specifically built for off road purposes, they are built for and used on the road 99% of its life which makes sense that there would be a rwd option
