Using a Diesel X5 in Canada, anything I should be aware of?
I am looking to trade in my 2008 X5 3.0si for either a 2015 35d or 2016 35i. Never had a diesel before and was wondering how well they do in Toronto, Canada maintenance wise etc. especially in the winter as it gets very cold here (at least for me!) Also is there anything I should be aware of. Been reading up a lot online and on this forum which is fantastic.
Historically I have driven around 15k km a year city and highway but starting within about 12 months or so may double that as I may have to travel more for work (another office much further out). Right now in Toronto diesel at the pumps is comparable in price to regular gas but about 15% cheaper than premium so if I eventually drive 30k km a year I could save around $3k in gas a year.
I was looking at one of the following based on the website and am going to a dealer next week.
Any thoughts and opinions appreciated.
