They all do the same thing. They increase manifold pressure (i.e. "Boost") and adjust fuel mapping toward the rich side, and then adjust timing curve. Rich mixes cool the intake charge and maximize power. The whole concept is riding the knock sensor.

The N55 engine has a fairly large turbo relative to the amount of boost it produces in stock guise. This leaves a lot of room for easy tuning. The B58 engine will be less ripe for exploitation.

Remember that all of these systems increase the risk of engine damage and component failure. Especially stacking.
